What kind of work is this?

Structural and ecological. Whether through hands-on work or Ayurvedic consultation, I read the body as a living terrain rather than a collection of parts to be corrected. We identify the pattern beneath the symptoms and build an approach rooted in your daily rhythms: how you eat, sleep, move, and rest. The goal is to understand why the body is doing what it’s doing and change the conditions.

Can I consult online?

Ayurveda and somatic education can be done via video. Hands-on work happens in person in Montréal. For in-depth Ayurvedic consultations online: mxmarin.ca/work-with-me.

Do I need a diagnosis to work with you?

No. Some people come with a detailed medical file. Others come with the felt sense that something has shifted and they can’t name it. Both are valid starting points. What matters is the pattern, and your willingness to participate in reading it.

Is this a replacement for my doctor?

No. I do not diagnose, prescribe pharmaceuticals, or manage acute medical conditions. I work at the layer your medical team may not have time to address: your daily rhythms, your digestion, your sleep, your capacity for change. This is complementary care. It works alongside your existing medical support.

I have an autoimmune or chronic condition. How can this help?

We work with the terrain the condition inhabits: supporting digestive capacity, reducing accumulated metabolic load, accompanying the body’s natural rhythms of restoration. This is sustained accompaniment through a cyclical condition, aiming to extend periods of remission and strengthen the body’s capacity to navigate fluctuations over time.

How is this different from a spa massage?

This is structural, collaborative, and slow. I integrate tuina (Chinese osteopathy), marma work, craniosacral therapy, and somatic education. We follow the body’s own impulses rather than imposing a sequence. You wear comfortable clothing throughout. People leave feeling different in how they carry their own weight: rearranged, not just relaxed.

Is it painful?

Some techniques generate intensity as we contact old holding patterns in the tissue. This is always within your window of tolerance. We work with the body’s resistance, never against it. If the body says no, we listen. That boundary is protecting something, and we respect it.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on your situation. Some people find what they need in a few sessions. Others benefit from regular work over several months. We discuss it together.

What should I wear?

Loose, comfortable clothing, anything that allows for breath and range of motion. This is not oil-based table work. You are clothed throughout.

Do you provide insurance receipts?

Bodywork (massage therapy): yes. Ayurveda: not currently eligible for reimbursement in Quebec.

What is your cancellation policy?

24 hours notice required. Less than that, and the session fee stands.

I'm not sure this is right for me. Can we talk first?

Yes. Write to laure@naturopathiemassotherapie.com and we can have a brief exchange to find out whether we’re a good fit. There is no charge for this.
